KAEA regions periodically host "drive in" events open to any art teachers. Check out your Regions' Events and all of those around the state. Membership is not required to attend a Drive In, though we would love to have you! Click HERE for membership information and HERE to join!

1:00 PM Museum of Art + Light 316 Pierre St Manhattan, KS | This will be a chance for members and non-members to experience the first museum of its kind that hosts a traditional art museum as well as an immersive art experience, currently featuring the art of Renoir! 2025 Youth Art Month Details
It's time to prepare for Youth Art Month- #KSYAM2025!
The 2025 Student Art Exhibit and Youth Art Month (YAM) Celebration will take place at the Topeka & Shawnee County Public Library
Event Details
- Kansas Youth Art Month Exhibit: February 25th–March 29th
- YAM Celebration & Reception: Saturday, March 29th, 11:00 AM–2:30 PM
March is Youth Art Month, a time to celebrate student art! The Kansas Art Education Association (KAEA) organizes this annual event with an exhibit and a reception for student artists, parents, and teachers. The event includes an art competition sponsored by BLICK Art Materials.
How to Participate
For Kansas Art Teachers:
- Submit one piece of student art from each school or level you teach to the YAM Exhibit.
- KAEA members can also enter that piece in the BLICK Youth Art Month Competition.

Event Highlights
- Art Materials for Teachers: Every teacher that participates by submitting a student's artwork into the YAM Exhibit will receive a 50-piece oil pastel set, discount coupons, and video tutorials courtesy of Pentel.
- BLICK YAM Art Competition: Recognition and prizes for winners in Elementary, Middle, and High School levels, including a Best of Show prize worth $1,000+.
- People’s Choice Awards: Voting runs through March 21st. Winners and their teachers will receive prizes and national recognition on Pentel's social media.
- 3-D Art Awards: Prizes for outstanding 3D artwork.
- YAM Flag Competition: Recognition and prizes for top flag designs.
- Best Classroom Display Competition: Submit a photo of your classroom display by March 10th to win a prize package.
- Featured Artists: Selected student art will be shared on social media in March.
- National YAM Exhibit: Selected Kansas student art will be part of the National YAM Exhibit at the NAEA Convention in Louisville.
- Harry Hart Memorial Senior Scholarships: Three seniors will receive scholarships and have their work displayed at the YAM Celebration.
